Talking to Co-Founder of Personal Branding Agency

Here's what I learned from my recent call with a founder of a Personal branding agency: 📌 Share about your expertise instead of sharing content irrelevant to your work. People share memes, some funny stuff, and hop with the latest trends. Please do not do it unless it helps your business or helps you get leads. 📌 Share learnings, share experiences, and show the stuff similar to what you will be writing for clients. That's very, very important. Your clients will be attracted to you more only if you have a better social presence. 📌 Your experience doesn't matter if you are open to learning new things. You do not need to show it in public unless necessary. Show what your clients want to see. Show what helps your business. Show what enables you to get leads. (Not always, but many times) 📌 Do not stop cold mailing even if you are getting clients on board. Always connect with people anyway. 📌 Try out different strategies related to content growth and expansion of your crew....

Cold Messaging to Founders

Nothing hurts more than investing time and effort without any progress. That's where the majority of people give up when they do not see any reply, not even a NO for their emails :) Last month was amazing for me. I got a chance to work with multiple content writers, freelancers, and founders. But time does change, it's been 11 days into July, and I haven't written any blog yet. (but every day feels like a busy day;/ Idk what's this type of procrastination) So, I decided to outreach business owners and founders. I sent 20-30 cold messages on LinkedIn. Personalized connection request helps, and many of them accepted it after reading this. What shocked me more was that they just accepted and did not reply :) (maybe they would be busy :/ ) Here comes the follow-up technique. (i do not generally do this, but what's wrong with trying?). One of the founders sent me their mail and asked me to send the commercials and more details over there :) It didn't attract me much,...

I ruined an opportunity myself!

I ruined a fantastic opportunity myself. Two days back, I got a chance to interview with a US-based AI company for their content and copywriting work. I filled out the form, and a DM dropped in my LinkedIn to fix a date for an interview. The first round went well, but where the problem happens? After the first interview round, she asked me to send my resume and portfolio along with an assignment. And yes, even if I have worked with multiple clients from India and abroad, the assignment I sent to her was not at par. I knew it, but I still sent it because I had already delayed it to 28 hours. The moment I sent the mail, she immediately opened the doc. I was still making some edits on it. (first mistake) Second, she had shared the doc with other company members too, and they saw the work that I didn't like much. I knew I had wasted this. Within two minutes, I got the mail and texted she'll get back to me. I knew what she meant :) But what exactly happened because? Of which I lose ...

7 years of teaching experience

It was the year 2013 when we shifted from a small village to a big city.  I saw huge buildings for the first time. It was the first time I saw this huge number of people in one place. The first time, I got to know what a private school actually looks like. 🤯 I was new to this city culture, but it did not take much time to get used to it.  My mom, who used to be a house maker for 18 years, decided to give her a new career. She asked my father to create her resume and started giving interviews to private schools for the position of primary teacher in any school. Fortunately, she tried in the same school as mine, and she got the job. I remember, my mom told me what my school principal said to her, even if she does not have perfection in English, she got this job because she got inspired seeing her journey, and starting a new career after 18 years. She believed in my mom because of her confidence. She realized it on the first meet itself.  And from then, there is no go...

Will Raj Shamani read this ?

"  You know, I was having my lunch when I saw a message with your Instagram profile linked to it. It said you are looking for someone easy to talk to and caring person.  Oh sorry, It wasn't your message. She sent the message at the same time :)  So, you are looking for someone to write creative copies for your LinkedIn posts and Twitter threads. Or to be precise, you are looking for a junior copywriter. So, I ignored that message and continued chatting with her till I finished my lunch. After an hour, I realized I am yet to realize what's more important to me. So, I opened up my mail and started writing this for you. The mail has a text written in bold that said: "Write three reasons why he should hire you". To be honest, I think three reasons are either too much or too little to judge someone. But still, I want to be hired so I think I have to write about that.  But before telling my qualities, I need to find one for myself.  Am I creative?  Am I good at c...

Key lessons from Ashneer Grover's podcast with Raj Shamani

This Shark has now built a huge fan base after his “doglapan”. Recently I went through his podcast with Raj Shamani and I learned and got to know many things about him. One key lesson that I learned from that podcast is………. LEARN TO SAY NO Be specific when you talk with someone. Sometimes people will call you rude for your behavior but at one point in life, they will realize how important it is to be specific to point.  If you are a founder or HR, say NO proudly if you think he/she is not eligible. If you don't want to hurt him/her, give them suggestions to improve and move on. But ghosting a candidate leads to a false image of yours. And it creates a false hope in the candidate’s mind.  It's ok to say no to clients if you think he is not valuing you. It's ok to say no to clients if you think he is underpaying you.  Similarly, for clients, it's ok to say no, if you think you are not getting the results you expected. Give some polite suggestions and look for other candid...

The 10 PM BLOG !

Yet another normal day passed in my life, and I again felt like I did nothing special today than repeating daily tasks. It's 10 PM now. One thing that I am doing differently today is finally I am writing this after weeks of sleepless nights.  Every night I sit with my laptop, screen light shining in my eyes. I keep looking at a blank page and thinking of writing but end up scrolling my phone or playing chess or chatting with someone. All of a sudden! a question struck my mind. What will happen after a year? What would happen when I will graduate?  What will I do after graduation?  How am I going to fulfill my needs?  How am I going to support my family? How am I going to earn money? and most importantly what I am doing now?  Am I doing the right thing? I literally travel through the whole world of procrastination. And finally, I go to sleep with loads of thoughts in my mind. I realize daily that I am doing wrong. But end up doing the same thing the next day....
